Kingsbridge Private Hospital are currently looking to fill the role of Waiter. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Kitchen team in our state-of-the-art hospital on the Lisburn Road. The catering department plays an instrumental role in helping patients make a speedy recovery with their healthy award-winning local cuisine.

Job Summary

The post-holder will be required to discuss menu options and serve food to patients in private rooms, and to serve food in the staff canteen.  The successful candidate will be required to work five, 8-hour shifts per week, which includes weekends. A flexible and positive attitude towards work is expected together with the ability to act on your own initiative.

 

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate should have 1 years’ experience working within a restaurant as a waiter, however, applicants with other customer service experience such as: reception, sandwich bar, or cafes will also be considered. Candidates must possess excellent people skills in order to communicate politely and professionally with both patients and staff. They must pay attention to detail in order to deliver precisely what the patient or staff member has ordered.

Candidates will be required to take food and drink orders and discuss menu options with staff and patients. A good knowledge of food allergies and food hygiene would be desirable, however, full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will assist with cleaning all areas of kitchen and canteen in accordance with the hospitals catering hygiene and food handling policy. This involves cleaning all crockery, cutlery and equipment, ensuring a clean and professional working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To discuss menu options with patients and take food orders and deliver meals to rooms.
  2. Assist in the preparation of food. 
  3. Maintain kitchen cleanliness to a very high standard.
  4. Work alongside other catering team members to ensure food is prepared for necessary times.
  5. Set up canteen and serve lunch to all hospital staff.

Person Specification:

Essential

Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience within a busy catering or other customer service environment.

Personal Attributes:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour

 

Desirable

Qualifications:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate.

Experience:

  • Experience in a high end or fine dining restaurant.
