Dr Moohan is a Consultant Gynaecologist/ Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine who specialises in infertility, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of benign gynaecological conditions.
Dr.Moohan, currently works as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine & Surgery at Altnagelvin Hospital in the Western Health and Social Care Trust, where he established an advanced infertility, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical service, with a particular focus on the treatment of uterine abnormalities and severe endometriosis. Indeed, he was responsible for the establishment of the first BSGE recognised Endometriosis Centre in Ireland.
Dr Moohan also works as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at TFP Belfast Fertility, where he provides Assisted Conception Treatments such as IUI, IVF, ICSI and Fertility preservation.
A graduate of Queen’s University, his training in infertility began in Queen’s University where he obtained his Doctorate Thesis. Following this, he took up a position as the Flick Fellow at the Hammersmith Hospital, London working alongside Professor Lord Winston and Dr Raul Margara, before moving to the world-famous Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, where he undertook subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
On his return to Ireland, he completed his subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin working with Professor Robbie Harrison. In 2017 he was awarded a Masters in Science in Advanced Endoscopic Surgery with Merit by the University of Surrey, the only person in Ireland to have obtained this award.
Dr Moohan has published a number of peer-reviewed papers in the fields of infertility and laparoscopic surgery, and has presented his work both nationally and internationally.
